Stela Barbieri was born in Araraquara (countryside of the State of São Paulo) in 1965. She works making performances inspired by tales of the oral tradition and has taken part in several plays in many different places such as Sala São Paulo Theater (with The Popular Chamber Orchestra of São Paulo), Itaú Cultural Institute (with Benjamim Taubkin, Toninho Carrasqueira, Ari Colares and others), Sesc* Vila Mariana and Sesc* Pompéia
