Stela Barbieri tells stories in theaters, movie theaters, schools and companies. She focuses especially on tales of the oral tradition of various peoples, on tales taken from books (including her own) and also on interesting biographies about famous personalities.
In her performances, she makes usage of traditional songs in order to give rhythm and veracity to the stories. In some occasions, musicians and illustrators themselves follow and help build the story with sounds and images, live on stage.
